Coffee

We serve 100% certified organic coffee roasted by Groundwork Coffee, a California company that has built its entire model around doing things the right way. They work directly with small, family-run farms, paying premium prices to support organic growing practices that avoid chemical shortcuts and prioritize long-term sustainability.

That commitment shows up in your cup. Their coffees are sourced with care, roasted daily in small batches to bring out balance and clarity, and handled with a level of attention that carries all the way through to how we prepare it.

It’s coffee we chose because the standards behind it match our own, and because you can actually taste the difference in every fresh cup we serve.

IMPORTED DIRECTLY FROM JAPAN

Matcha

Our matcha is ceremonial grade and sourced from Japan through small, independent producers who are serious about their craft. We choose teas based on origin, cultivar, and how they’re grown and processed, with a focus on producers who are preserving tradition while continuing to refine their work.

This particular matcha is a blend of Okumidori and Asanoka from the mountains of Shizuoka, with a balance of rich umami and a clean, refreshing brightness. We prepare it using traditional, authentic methods, sifted and whisked by hand with care and consistency. It’s a process that respects where it comes from and the people behind it.

Japanese ring donuts made for Kaffein by Ring in Los Angeles. Silken tofu and rice flour give them a soft, chewy, almost mochi-like bite, and they’re all naturally gluten free. Some flavors are vegan and some aren’t, just ask us in the café.
